Courtyard House
Cambridge, MA
This new construction residence in Cambridge is a sanctuary in the busy neighborhood surrounding it. A micro-courtyard is the centerpiece of the house, bringing natural daylight into the middle of the residence. Our team designed a system of motorized and manual shading, as well as architectural speakers, network components, and a Lutron EcoSystem for lighting and shading.
Motorized shading was used throughout the residence, including the windows and doors around the micro-courtyard. At a press of a button, these shades can be opened or drawn to adjust the amount of natural light flooding the room.
The Finire recessed lights specified by Lam Partners utilized an EcoSystems driver, which allows each light to be programmed and controlled separately. EcoSystems requires special wiring for proper control. We worked closely with the team atLam Partners to ensure smooth operation of the lighting throughout.
