Unbiased Home Technology Consulting

"Technology Design is not about bits and bytes. It's about simplicity, reliability, and aesthetics."

We believe technology should augment the beauty of a space and never distract from it. It should be sophisticated yet easy to use. It should allow for the possibilities available in today's interconnected world yet remain reliable.

Technology is as critical to the modern home as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. System 7 helps clients  explore and evaluate the myriad of home technology options, including lighting, motorized shading, audio/video, networking, access control, surveillance, and controls.

Amidst quickly-evolving systems and products, competing platforms, and dense technical specifications, we help clients make the right home technology decisions.

Our Process

Technology Education

Our product-agnostic design process begins with assisting the client and project team with technology education. Either virtually, at the design team's workplace, or in our office, we provide a comprehensive and immersive overview of the latest in home technology.

Program Development

Using our custom software and the architectural plans, we develop the technology scope and budget in real time, including value engineering.

Design Development + Construction Documents

Once the scope and budget have been developed with the project team and homeowner, we deliver schematic level drawings and an easy-to-understand program. These documents outline the impact the home technology systems will have on the project's design and budget.

Subcontractor Selection + Contract Administration

System 7 can help develop a comprehensive bid package and manage the technology subcontractor selection process. We coordinate the technology scope of work with the project team and all other stakeholders. We review submittals and change orders, and we confirm that the systems are complete and commissioned at the end of the project.
